Just a quick note to introduce myself 🙂 I am a stay at home mom with two adult children and two teenagers at home. I am also the very proud grandmother of two beautiful twin 4 year old babies! I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Management of Technical Operations and spent over 15 years in the Aviation Field. I also have over 9 years of experience as a Dental Assistant but I have always been in love with creating things, whether it be arts and crafts with my kids, sketching/drawing/painting, or putting events together. In fact, every since I could remember I always wanted to grow up to be an Artist. Okay, so I am not admitting to being grown up just yet 🙂 but I do admit that it feels wonderful to finally be able to do what I love full time! With the love and support of my husband and children, I quit my grown-up job the middle of 2016 and began the next chapter of my own life book!
A large part of my creative passion is to try to use existing items and simply give them a new life and/or new beginning. I love working with reclaimed wood, re-purposing furniture/household items, or putting two or more pieces together to create something completely different. I love watching it come together and seeing the final product!
Being raised in a single parent home taught me how to live on a budget and I believe only boosted my creative side even more (Thanks Mom!!). My mothers philosophy, which I have gratefully inherited, was that “Why buy it if I can make it?”. Yes, our budget was tight but it never felt like it when we were growing up because we never did without. This is a concept that I have carried into adulthood and that my kids have also picked up. In fact, our 16 year old daughter refinished her bedroom vanity set by herself last year (yep..sanded, stained, and sealed all by herself!) and with some help from her dad re-purposed a display case into a reptile terrarium! Proud Momma over here!! 🙂
